We’re lending our support to the Life Support campaign, run by Mind. This campaign will shine a spotlight on the excellent ‘life support’ services which community and voluntary organisations provide to people with mental health issues.
Advice, information and support interventions – what Mind calls ‘life support’ services – are hugely important to helping people with mental health problems stay connected and overcome social problems, as well as getting access to appropriate housing and services.
‘Life support’ services provide people with a range of support, from advice on housing and debt, to art groups, to befriending services and peer support. Mind’s new campaign will shine a spotlight on the excellent ‘life support’ services being provided around the country and make the case for their funding to local authorities and other local commissioners.
Watch the film they’ve produced about the importance of local services which support those with mental health problems.
