Boost for counselling service funds

26 February 2016

Young people living in Luton will still be able to get counselling support thanks to new funding awarded to Relate Bedfordshire and Luton.

The award, funded by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation’s London Luton Airport Ltd fund, will enable counselling at TOKKO youth space, in the centre of Luton, to continue for a further year from April.combinedlogo13

“We are grateful and delighted at securing this award,” says local Relate CEO Angela Foll. “The last time we reported publicly on the service we talked about a waiting list of more than 50 young people at TOKKO. Despite on-going counselling throughout 2015-16, we continue to have around that number waiting for the service, which shows that demand is not letting up at all. So the funding to allow us to continue with this valued service is essential and enormously welcomed.”

Professional one-to-one counselling is provided at TOKKO in partnership with Relate Bedfordshire and Luton and Sorted Counselling Service.
