Ways to Support Relate

Calling all cyclists!

Join us on the annual London to Brighton Cycle Ride and use your pedal power to support Relate Northamptonshire!

Record numbers are set to pull on their lycra and put their pedals to the test for Relate Northamptonshire in the annual Do it for Charity LONDON TO BRIGHTON CYCLE RIDE 2017!

Leave the buzz of the city behind and join thousands of your fellow cyclists as you face the challenge of a 54 mile journey on two wheels in your bid to raise hundreds of pounds for charity. There is a biking buzz sweeping the nation and the 2017 London to Brighton cycle is set to reflect this with over 4,000 participants expected to sign up to this iconic challenge, with each rider raising for a great cause like Relate Northamptonshire!

On Sunday 17th September 2017 our fundraisers will depart from Clapham Common (registration 6.30am – 9.30am) to head south through idyllic British countryside and tackle the 54 mile route to the buzzing Brighton seafront! Making their way along quiet country lanes passing through Mitcham, Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead and Haywards Heath before taking on the challenge that is Ditchling Beacon – a mile long climb to the top of the South Downs where they will be rewarded with amazing views – before heading towards the sea to the finish line!

Now is the time to sign up and support Relate Northamptonshire.  We’re here to help you make the most of your couple and family relationships, past, present or future. We can help those not currently in a relationship.  Our services include Relationship Counselling for individuals and couples, Family Counselling and Children and Young People’s Counselling .

It doesn’t matter if you’re married, living together, single, gay or straight – we’re here to help.

The money raised from this year’s London to Brighton cycle will go towards providing more Children and Young People Counselling.   On average 3 children in every class are suffering from some form of poor mental health.  Relate Northamptonshire can provide much needed help & support to these young people to help them thrive in their lives now and in the future.

All you need to do is pledge to raise £100 for Relate Northamptonshire and reserve your place by completing the enclosed registration form or doing in online at: www.doitforcharity.com  Information will follow in due course regarding group training rides and plans to get us there on the day!

Relate Northamptonshire is an autonomous local charity and has to be totally self-financing. We rely on payments and donations from grateful clients and supporters as well as local authority grants and earnings from selling our education and learning services.

We urgently need more money to maintain and expand our services. At present and due to local authority spending cuts, we have no bursary to offer clients who are unable to pay. We know that families need our help and rely on our specialist support. There are 3 ways you can help.

  1. Make a donation

If you have been lucky enough to enjoy a good relationship, why not celebrate its success by making a donation in thanks for each happy year? Your gift will help couples and families in financial difficulty who have come to Relate for help.

  1. Gift Aid

If you pay tax Relate can claim the tax on the donation you give by signing one form. This can be done for a one-off donation or for any donations you give us. Please ask for a form.

  2. Leave a bequest in your will

Many former Relate clients say thank you to us by making a bequest to Relate Northamptonshire in their will. Your solicitor will be able to tell you how to do this. Your bequest will help us to train a new volunteer counsellor or it might enable us to offer counselling in an isolated rural area for the first time.
